Here are photos of seats being used incorrectly, or old seats that I have aquired to be destroyed.

fpshieldbooster.jpg

Fisherprice shield booster, DOM early '90s.  For use with or without shield 40-60lbs.  I purchased it at a garage sale and then destroyed it.
You can see in these pictures how the shield is really close to Greg's face, and at the same times, it does not touch the torso.  A child could easily be ejected from this seat.

Here I might describe the photo above.

Same fp booster, without the shield.  The shoulder belt is right across Greg's neck, and the lapbelt position is not great.

Some pictures of Gregory in a Cosco Explorer (non-removable shield) that I aquired at a garage sale to destroy.  You can see in these pictures that there is very little torso restraint, Greg can lean forward, sideways and slide down in this booster.

In just the lap/shoulder belt.  See how high the lapbelt rides on the abdomen.  Greg can legally ride in this manner in our country, which is a very scary thought.

This is a booster I found at a yard sale.  no DOM.  Says Britax UK on the side, I've been told the model is called Horizon.  I really like how this booster positions the lap belt on Greg, and the shoulder belt is in a good position too, even with the shoulder belt positioner missing.  Since I don't know it's history and DOM I have destroyed it.

What were these people thinking?  This is an AO installed in the forward facing position with the 3pt vehicle seatbelt.  Instead of using the harness to restrain the child, they wrapped the tether around the front of the seat, passing it through the shoulder belt guide on one side, and down around the oposite side of the seat, then up to the other seatbelt guide where it was tied in place.
